The Forecast is..

Our kids like to participate in the morning ritual of paper reading. So far they seem most interested in the weather report. This reminds me of the Paul Simon song with the line "I get all the news I need in the weather report." (The Only Living Boy in New York). Anyway, in addition to this totally sensible thing, when they do get a look at the forecast page (with suns, and clouds, etc..) they see the picture of the weatherman, Greg Fishel, and say "Daddy!" I find this more disturbing than Will's patricidal earlier comments.

Rhyming Demons

The other night we were having dinner and the kids were making nonsense rhymes. We are all about educational moments so we jumped in as well.
Me: Will Bill Sill Till Mill
Will: Will Sill Bill Kill Daddy.

SCIENTIFIC!

This is the new buzzword, or will be if we all start using it. We got from Mimi Smartypants and have been following through. We added our own little twist.

You say "SCIENTIFIC!" with your thumbs up, in the traditional Fonz pose. Then, you and whoever else happened to say it too, press your thumbs together in solidarity. As you do so, you sing out "BING!" All the cool kids are saying it.

Will says "Simon Tiffic!" which is just as cool, and an appropriate substitute if you are someplace (like an RNC debate) where espousing a love for science might endanger your life.

In related preachin to the choir business, I am about half way through "The God Delusion." Some good ammo in there.
