The Great Debate

Tonight we went to Holly's and Vince's for combined birthday dinner. It was yummy. The kids were considerably better behaved than the adults (discussing immigration reform). They played and played, ate well and were all around fun.
But the highlight for me was the ride to their house. For the better part of the trip, Will and Sophie were engaged in the sort of witty repartee not scene in recent years. The topic?
How best to transverse a gap: bridge or tunnel?
Will is a proponent of Tunnels.
Sophie a fan of bridges.
As Will put it "TUNNEL!"
But, on the otherhand, one cannot deny Sophie's retort "Bridge!"
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge
Tunnel
Bridge

Really, they both have good points.

I'd be worried. Wars have been waged for less.

Well, there was a shouting match ostensibly about immigration reform, but it could have been simply a contest to see voice was loudest.
At one point the tone and volume of the yelling match was such that Sophie came over with a scared look on her face. I held her for a while, and eventually it settled down.
No new point was made during the debate.
Bankoski gatherings usually involve some boistrous banter, and a lively bit of Bush bashing, such that the quiet conservative minority (a cousin's spouse) has stopped coming to the family events. But, it was getting out of hand.
Attempts to recreate the Bridge-Tunnel debate fell as flat as Ali-Frazier 2.
