Robbed!

It was such a nice day today. After dinner the four of us went for a short walk around the neighborhood. Half an hour, maybe?
Shortly after we got back, we got a call from the Credit Card Company, reporting unusual purchases.
Sure enough, my wallet, was missing my credit cards and the cash inside.
Someone tried to buy $170 at a nearby Walmart (hence the unusual purchase) after making at least two other purchases there...
Searching the house, our computers are here, our stereo, our digital camera, our cars. (Despite the keys being right next to my wallet).
The whereabouts of our Digital Video Cam are unknown. But, then we were not 100% sure where the videocam was before, so it might show up around here somewhere.

Ultmately, we get a little hassle with the cards.
Need to update the services that use that number.

Need to start locking the doors to our house for every little trek. Need to hide the keys, and the wallets. Need to start worrying about people walking in our neighborhood. Some friends of ours are moving out, for different reasons, I got to say.
Of course the idea that there is a better safer neighborhood is probably another fantasy.

Sigh

The world's most memorable events

To a Two-Point-Five year old.

1. A Horse sneezed when she was about to ride it at the NC State Fair (All later sneezers are compared to the horse)
2. A Horse once pooped in the grass. (At the NCSU Vet School open house)
3. There was once a Mouse-King (in the NutCracker Ballet)
4. Sadie (my niece) says "Wah-Wah" (instead of "water")[Not true - BTW]

Just thought you should know.

If I didn't have disappointment, I'd hardly have any appointment.

So I had one student this year who sort of dropped out of my classes. Failed to attend, was barely there when he was there. Whenever I asked him if he wanted to be in class he'd say yes. Whenever we discussed it, he was ready and willing to do what was needed. But he couldn't do much without my constant supervision.
Two days ago he, like many others, failed ot show for my class. Part of our signed agreement to be allowed to make up the entire first part of the semester was to attend every class.
Yesterday I bumped into him. He apologized and said he had a big paper to write for another class.
Today I read the make up paper he did. Entirely plagiarized.

I think I've reached my limits.

Infancy Nights Redux

So this last couple of weeks, Will has been having trouble sleeping. And, as a result, so are the rest of us. It very much reminds us of the kids' infancies. He cries and cries, and is easily settled with some cuddling, or a pacifier, but then starts up minutes or seconds into being put down.
It is irritating, and making us adults cranky.
Like before, th ekids seem entirely immune to the need to sleep.
Sophie is funny. Will wakes her up, and she is ready to start talking, and playing, be it 1am or 2am. I wonder how ofter her nocturnal talking wakes up little Will, and starts the annoying cycle over again.

Been a while since last update. I will add somemore later.
